Repetition is an invitation to build a better tool. Explore the logic behind the Illustrator scripts and workflow tools I created at Hybrid Digital.
Interactive browser models. Original scripts run in Illustrator.The script consolidates colors, constructs an underbase, applies a choke, assigns a white spot color and removes configured no-under geometry. Compound-path handling matters when shapes contain holes.
Each stage can report an error. The sequence stops on failure; earlier document changes can remain. The browser study uses simple geometry to explain those decisions.
A visual review aid, not an automatic pass/fail engine. This controlled geometry is scaled up for explanation.
Eligible artwork is copied into a dedicated QA layer. Gap Check expands paths by 1 pt in magenta; Line Weight Check contracts them by 0.5 pt in green. The original artwork stays available for comparison.
Raster, placed, hidden and locked objects are skipped and reported. Rerunning a tool replaces its previous QA layer. Complex artwork still requires inspection.
The PNG exporter isolates the separation layer and captures the first artboard at 300 PPI with transparency. It processes the selected folder only.
The PDF converter includes subfolders, preserves editability, requests all artboards and skips existing PDFs. Both close documents without saving temporary changes back to the original AI file.
This demonstration exercises representative decision rules. It does not open or convert Illustrator files in the browser.
I created a macOS tool to record timestamped Illustrator keyboard and mouse events for workflow analysis. A visible sequence can help identify repeated actions worth automating.

The app is designed around start/stop controls, timestamped event logs and Illustrator-focused capture. The useful output is a readable sequence of actions to review.
The preserved application and a sample log document the logging workflow. This portfolio makes no measured time-savings claim. The demonstration is a reconstruction, not a live session from the original app.

I independently built AmazinSaver’s website and data workflow: collecting promotional records, enriching them with Google Apps Script, and publishing a searchable deal collection.
Categories, search, new deals and expiration countdowns, powered by a Google Sheets CSV feed. The original site is offline. This working reconstruction uses fictional records and a relative demo clock.
My browser script scrolled the Amazon Associates promo page, extracted matching loaded promotions, removed repeated promo codes and downloaded CSV files of up to 1,000 rows. Its 13 columns matched the Google Apps Script enrichment schema.

The collection script performs 80 scroll rounds with 800 ms pauses to load more promo content. It finds matching page sections, extracts category, discount, brand, code, dates and links, then removes repeated codes. Quoted CSV exports contain up to 1,000 records each, using the same 13 fields required by the enrichment tools.
A custom Sheets menu runs enrichment on incomplete records. The script extracts Amazon product identifiers (ASINs), retrieves titles and images, generates affiliate links, and records missing-data or error states. Each enrichment run processes up to 200 eligible rows.
A separate recovery tool scans promo-page HTML for product identifiers, checks for duplicates across the workbook, and can expand one promo row into multiple product records. Title-based heuristics group likely variants. A preview reports proposed changes before sheet writes.
Date and completeness checks route records into INTAKE, FAILED, UPCOMING, READY or ARCHIVED. READY requires an active date status, title, image, FOUND image status, product identifier and affiliate link. Duplicate tools prioritize larger discounts, then later end dates.
The promo-link checker treats recognized bot-check pages as uncertain. Suspected ended offers are copied to PROMO_REVIEW with a reason, source tab, row and timestamp; the review tool leaves original records intact. FEATURED stays manually curated, excluded from enrichment and automatic routing.
The website reads a published Google Sheets CSV feed, normalizes headers, organizes categories, and renders search and expiration countdowns. The reconstruction above uses fictional records and makes no live Amazon or Sheets requests.
The preserved scripts document collection, enrichment and review; the original site is offline. Collection covers matching loaded page content, with a fixed scroll budget rather than a completeness check. Parsing and variant matching use heuristics. Batch sizes are configuration limits, not measured throughput.
My background is in design and prepress. My curiosity lives in the space between a good idea and a repeatable production process.
I work with artwork at the point where details matter: separations, underbases, line weights, file preparation and handoff. When a task repeats, I look for a way to make it more consistent.
That has led me from visual design into Illustrator scripting, workflow tools and independent web projects. I’m pursuing remote roles in creative production, workflow automation and production systems.
